beuseddirectlywithstainlesssteelflue
pipeormaybeusedwithcastironflue
pipeinconjunctionwithacastiron
adaptor.Iftheflue pipehastobesetat
ananglethencuttheendssothatitsits
correctly.
Ensurethatthefluepipeisnot
obstructedorrestrictedinanywayand
thatalljointsarewellsealed.
Beforeinfillingcoverthefrontofthe
appliancetoprotectit.Ensurethatthe
fluepipeiscentralandthenfillthe
spacebetweenthebodyofthe
applianceandthestructuralbrickwork
withvermiculite(e.g.micafilorsimilar)
concrete.Ensurethattherearenoair
pockets.Therecommendedmixissix
volumesofvermiculitegranulestoone
volumeofPortlandcementthoroughly
mixedtogether.Enoughwatershould
beaddedsothatnomorethanoneor
twodropsofwaterarereleasedwhen
ahandfulofthemixtureissqueezed.
Afterfillingwithvermiculiteflaunchthe
topoftheflueconnectorpipetothe
chimneywithlimemortar.
Makegoodtheholesinthefrontand
sideofthechimneybreastmakingsure
thattheyarecompletelyairtight.A

Inmostinstallationsitwillbepossible
tosweepthechimneythroughthe
appliance.Ifthisisnotpossiblethen
somealternativemeans(suchasasoot
door),mustbeprovided.
